ELAW partner Maurice Odhiambo Makoloo was featured on The Hub (by Witness). Here’s their introduction (click above to watch the video):
All people deserve the right to have access to natural resources and to ensure that these resources are managed in a responsible manner. This concept is often referred to as environmental governance, and is the keystone of what the Institute for Law and Environmental Governance (ILEG) stands for. WITNESS was fortunate enough to meet with and interview one of its members, Maurice Odhiambo Makoloo, during the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide meeting in Oregon in March 2009. In the conversation, Maurice provides a unique firsthand account of the hardships he faced while growing up in his native village in Kenya. He also offers great insight into the legal processes that go into securing the environmental freedoms all people desperately need.
